What is Sotomayer's heritage? The news cycle reports that the family came from Puerto Rico. Were they always residing in Puerto Rico? Her face has many Indigenous characteristics her nose for example.

This blog is by an indigenous person who doesn't think she does look Taino. But she looks indigenous to me. In the comments on his blog, the poster ponders:

Well it's good to know, I am not the only one, who has been wondering about her actual ethnic makeup:) The reason being there is so much emphasis by the MSM on her Latina status.; May 29, 2009 at 11:10 AM

Sotomayor probably doesn't have much Taino. Porto Ricans are very mixed. The Tainos were almost completely wiped out by Spanish slavery and diseases.
