Michele Bachmann will be joined by Sarah Palin on the campaign trail in Minnesota this afternoon! They're holding a rally at 2pm CT at the Minneapolis Convention Center, and even if you can't attend, you can watch it live on Michele Bachmann's website!
Michele Bachmann says "Thanks so much for your support, and let's send a message to Obama, Reid, and Pelosi they won't ever forget!"
The 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee is taking up a spot as a regular commentator on Fox News Channel.
2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is joining Fox News as a contributor, the news channel announced Monday.
The former Alaska governor, whose book, Going Rogue: An American Life, became a bestseller weeks before it was released and remains No. 2 on the New York Times bestseller list, has signed a multi-year deal to offer her political commentary and analysis across all Fox News platforms, including Fox Business Channel, FoxNews.com and Fox News Radio.
She will also participate in special event political programming for Fox Broadcasting.
"I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News. It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news," Palin said in a written release.
Palin will also host periodic episodes of Fox News Channel's "Real American Stories," a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape that will debut in 2010.
Not only was Abdul Farouk Umar Abdulmutallab on several watch lists, and from a real hotbed of al Qaeda terrorist activity, the guy’s own father warned the embassy that his son had become radicalized by militant Islamic fanatics. Never mind Abdul showed up with no luggage, tried to board with no passport, and paid for the one-way ticket to Detroit in cash. Who goes to Detroit without a ticket out of there anyway?
As bad as all of this is though, and this is a serious indictment on our entire terror fighting process, it also highlights another issue, energy independence.
Long before Sarah Palin made “death panels” a household word, long before she was even picked as the John McCain’s running mate, Sarah made energy independence a centerpiece of her message, her career. Sarah didn’t just talk the talk either, within hours of stepping into her new office as the Governor of Alaska, she began working on making the decades long dream of a natural gas pipeline to the lower 48 a reality.
It was Sarah’s dream to get Alaska’s 100’s of trillions of cubic feet of clean burning natural gas out of the ground and into use. She was able to work out all of the issues and now the pipeline is on track to become a reality.
Of course, Sarah’s message on energy independence isn’t just an economic one. Now it’s true, we send between $700 billion and $1 trillion dollars annually overseas. The problem is many times it’s to nations that not only hate us, but use our own dollars to fund efforts to undermine us as a nation. In other words, they use our dollars to fund terror, world wide, against the United States, and our allies.
Even worse, we are forced to act gingerly, even timidly, on many issues, lest we cause major problems with big oil producing nations like Saudi Arabia. We make those guys mad, and they can shut us off, or raise prices to the moon, destroying our already devastated economy. (That is if Obama and the rest of the democrat/communists don’t beat them to it!)
Lordy, Lordy, Lordy, look what the pollsters just brought in.
A pair of new surveys revealing that President Obama is still declining and has hit a new low in job approval among Americans just 56 weeks after they elected him with a decided margin.
And -- wait for it -- Republican Sarah Palin is successfully selling a whole lot more than books out there on the road. Even among those not lining up in 10-degree weather to catch a glimpse of pretty much the only political celebrity the GOP has these days.
First, el jefe. Facing double-digit unemployment, rising spending, deficits and Afghan war casualties plus a keystone but stalled healthcare reform effort that caused a rare Sunday presidential visit to Capitol Hill, Obama recently fell below 50% job approval for the first time.
Then, last week's deft dance of rhetoric over sending reinforcements to Afghanistan but, on the other foot, bringing them home quickly maybe gave him a brief boost. That, however, collapsed with equal rapidity.
Obama's new Gallup Poll job approval number is 47%. Last month it was 53%.
Hasn't Sarah Palin been subjected to enough drooling sexist insulting behavior? Now this?
MSNBC Uses Fake, ‘Sexy’ Photos of Sarah Palin on Air; Will Network Correct and Apologize?
By Scott Whitlock (Bio | Archive) November 13, 2009 - 13:21 ET
The host never admitted or addressed the fact that his network was passing off counterfeit pictures to his viewers. Earlier in the segment, Ratigan displayed an image of Palin in a short, black mini-skirt. This photo is also not real. MSNBC should immediately apologize for presenting such false information.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has told associates that she will not seek re-election next year, freeing her to pursue a White House bid in 2012, according to two GOP sources.
Palin is to make her decision known later this afternoon from her home in Wasilla with her husband, Todd, and family by her side.
By not running for re-election, Palin liberates herself from the political constraints that come with running for president while still in elected office.
Those good ol' days of frat boy misogyny which followed the well heeled dogs scions of yesteryear throughout their privileged pampered lives are alive and well in some quarters.
It was a time when any woman who worked for a living was fair game for their lust. Maids, waitresses, nurses, nannies, flight attendants, secretaries and store clerks were imagined to be "slutty". Just longing to jump in the sack with them. How these men must miss those days. Some like David Letterman are still stuck in the 50's.
Actually the term "slut" first meant kitchen slut, a lowly poorly paid kitchen worker in Merry Old England. It's obvious society associated poorly paid working women with promiscuity then as some do now.
Send CBS a message to dump him and his phony insincere apologies.
If there was any question that a stubborn strain of old-school sexism persists in Obama's America, one has only to look at certain leaders of what the right wing loves to call the "liberal media" but which is sounding and acting, recently, more like the frat-house media. There, like a virus hiding in the body before, perhaps, staging a comeback, misogyny has found a place to lurk almost undetected, at least by the usually sharp eyes of progressive feminists.
"Slutty flight attendant" is not just a sexual put-down; it's a socioeconomic one.
Examine the symptoms of this infection, beginning with David Letterman's comments (widely noted but insufficiently analyzed) about Sarah Palin "buying makeup at Bloomingdale's to update her slutty flight attendant look," as well as his joke about Palin's teenage daughter: "Sarah Palin went to a Yankees Game yesterday … during the seventh inning stretch, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez." (Letterman insists he was talking about her 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, who actually had been, well, knocked up, not her 14-year-old, Willow, the daughter who attended the game.) A week before these remarks aired, there was an uglier outbreak of the contagion in the pages of Playboy -- never a bastion of egalitarian forward thinking, but still -- where writer Guy Cimbalo published a list of 10 conservative women he'd like to "hate f**k," a term that various observers interpreted as rough sex, sex tinged by rage, or rape. (Gabe Winant wrote for Broadsheet about the "Hate F**k" story, which has since been yanked by Playboy.) Worse than the violence of the general sentiment was the graphic specificity of the "Hate F**k Rating" appended to each woman -- a list that included Michelle Malkin, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Dana Perino and Laura Ingraham. On Hasslebeck: "You'd be better served sucking off Regis Philbin." On Malkin: "Worse than f**king Eva Braun."
Both cases were met with a tepid response from the left. Though Letterman apologized on Wednesday’s show (see video below), his tone was mock-serious, and his audience chuckled along.
Imagine if, say, Michelle Obama, or Rachel Maddow, or Nancy Pelosi became the target of similar invective. The outcry from the left would be deafening. Shouldn’t liberals exhibit the same sort of decorous treatment we demand for ourselves? Sexist comments like Letterman’s and Cimbalo’s also evoke a troublingly insular, clubhouse atmosphere in lieu of an inclusive political party. What's more, the gender-based stereotypes they conjure are as stale and ignorant as any voiced by the old Neanderthal right: Pretty women are de facto stupid, sexually promiscuous and low-class. Indeed, it's the latter slight that has been least remarked upon and is, perhaps, the most disturbing. “Slutty flight attendant” is not just a sexual put-down; it's a socioeconomic one. Likewise, when Cimbalo says, of right-wing blogger Pamela Geller, "Even a Silkwood shower won't get rid of the stench of Fascist divorcee and Elizabeth Arden's Red Door," the classist sentiment is unmistakable. It's a combination of gutter misogyny and snobbery, a return to a 1950s kind of insult. This is like saying a woman has a "reputation," that she's "that kind of girl," one from "the wrong side of the tracks." Cimbalo seems to be holding his nose not at the smell of some supposedly déclassé perfume but at the stench of working for a living, of being middle-class or having middle-class taste.
Well for starters, if he was going to say something so provocative about Sarah Palin's daughter(s), he might have found out which one was with her. He says he didn't know any were with her. Come on......everybody knows Sarah Palin takes her kids with her. Unlike others who have let nannies raise their kids.
And four years difference in age do not make it OK to say rude, crude remarks about the 18 year old daughter. Is Bristol our Hester Prynne? Is she branded for life with a Scarlet Letter and compelled to suffer the scorn and abuse of a "sinless" community forever as women were 350 years ago? Does he wear buckles on his hat and shoes?
And it is not OK for a local clown comedian to make ridiculously crude jokes about a sitting governor visiting New York and attending a ballgame. Should she be called a SLUT or that she looks or dresses like a SLUT?Would he have said this about a Democratic governor?
Letterman re-addresses Palin: 'I had no idea [Willow] was there'
David Letterman re-addressed the controversy surrounding his jokes about Sarah Palin's family during the taping of CBS' "Late Show" on Monday.
Letterman said he had no idea Palin was at the game with her 14-year-old daughter, Willow, and apologized to the governor.
"I had, honestly, no idea that the 14-year-old girl, I had no idea that anybody was at the ball game except the governor, and I was told at the time she was there with Rudy Giuliani," Letterman said. "It’s not your fault that it was misunderstood, it’s my fault. ... So I would like to apologize, especially to the two daughters involved, Bristol and Willow, and also to the governor and her family and everybody else who was outraged by the joke."
The comedian's jokes about Palin's family last week caused an uproar. One CBS advertiser has reportedly pulled its ads in response to the subsequent protests, which have demanded CBS fire Letterman.

I intend to do all three.
I think comedians and others think it is OK to make fun of the obese, the elderly, Appalachian Rednecks and Sarah Palin and her family.
She seems to be in a special category. Maybe they think she can't hear them way up in Alaska.
They're pretty dumb, so they may not realize Alaska gets TV, Internet and newspapers.
And what about the way Letterman insulted all the flight attendants? In a 1950's "Coffee, tea or me?" mindset which illustrates what he is thinking about when he flies. I sincerely hope a flight attendant manages to accidentally spill a cup of very hot coffee on his crotch.

If only Sarah Palin were Vice-president we might see more diaper changing in the White House.
Those of us that believe in Sarah Palin and other Conservative leaders need to object loudly to the Media Bias so prevalent in the press. Some think we should ignore these people. I say they are like "dogs who return to their own vomit", until it is made more pleasant or less painful to do otherwise they will continue their present behavior.
http://www.ADN.com, the Ankorage Daily News does allow vicious comments that do not meet their purported guidelines. The comments are sickening.

UPDATE:
Not sure what is going on there. There may have been some recent scrubbing.
It just seems like an article about anyone remotely connected to Sarah Palin brings out the dingbats and trolls. They despise her and her family. It is pathetic really.
New Book Moves to Reintroduce Sarah Palin to Americans
In 'Sarah Palin: Poised to Become America's First Female President', Recaldo Ochoa explores the life and times of a politician he believes was wronged by the media. He reintroduces Americans to an exceptional American woman, Governor Sarah Palin, who has the character, the qualification, the attributes--intelligence, judgment, leadership ability, and experience--and the unprecedented historical opportunity to become the first female president of the greatest nation on earth.
Acworth, Ga. (PRWEB) March 27, 2009 -- 'Sarah Palin: Poised to Become America's First Female President' by Recaldo Ochoa aims to debunk the false persona that he suggests was created by the press to discredit Palin and ruin her chances of success.
Sarah Palin is often viewed as a polarizing figure, states Ochoa, people either seem to love her or hate her. In 'Sarah Palin', he sets out to separate the myths from the truths about her life and her service in government. Analyzing her personal and political journey, Ochoa means to give readers a second look at the governor so that they might make up their own minds about this controversial figure.
When Palin was announced as John McCain's running mate, Ochoa was determined to learn more about her. He wrote this book to defend her against attacks on her intelligence and character during and after the presidential election. In chapter after chapter, Ochoa delves into Palin's personal and public life, including her work as governor of Alaska, where he feels she put her career on the line fighting for the interests of the people she represents. "She may be a hockey mom," states Ochoa, "but she has the intelligence, judgment and leadership ability to lead the country."
When he's not gushing over the Obamas, you can make a fair bet that CNN commentator Jack Cafferty is bashing conservatives, and he returned to one of his favorite subjects of scorn during his regular "Cafferty File" segment on Thursday's Situation Room -- Sarah Palin. He labeled three quotes from a recent speech the Alaska Governor gave as "painful." He concluded his commentary by remarking that "whoever said truth is stranger than fiction must have met this woman."
The CNN commentator also hinted twice during the segment that the Alaska Governor was unintelligible. During the commentary, the commentator remarked that Palin "talked about why the Republicans lost in November, and seemed mostly to blame the press, at least I think that's what she said." Later, after Blitzer stated that the Governor would be visiting Washington and that they were going to try to have her on the program, Cafferty laughed and replied: "Well, let's hope so. Maybe you can understand her."
[This item, by the MRC's Matthew Balan, was posted Thursday evening on the MRC's blog, NewsBusters.org: newsbusters.org ]
For an example of Cafferty's recent adulation of the Obamas, see the March 4 CyberAlert item, "CNN's Jack Cafferty Confesses His 'Crush on Michelle Obama,'" at: www.mrc.org
Cafferty began by reading the quotes without an attribution and asked his viewers to see if they could guess who gave them. After reading the first two, he labeled them "vintage Sarah Palin." After reading the third quote and labeling all three "painful," and summarizing what Palin had talked about during her speech, he asked his "Question of the Hour:" "Is Sarah Palin still relevant to the national dialogue?"
As you might expect, all but one of the viewer responses that Cafferty read at the end of the hour bashed the Alaska governor to one degree or another. The sole exception actually targeted the commentator himself: "Given she's the subject of at least one of your questions every time she opens her mouth, it must mean she's still relevant to the national dialogue!" That person has apparently been paying attention, since Cafferty devoted 35% of his "Questions of the Hour" over a month period between late August and the end of September 2008 to talking about Palin.
She's become, to the left, what Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy long were to the right -- fundraising gold.
The DCCC blasts out an email from James Carville:
Dear Friend,
You won't even believe this.
The Republicans have called on none other than Sarah Palin to headline their big fat-cat fundraising dinner.
You know they're going to use every last dime they raise to try to slam the brakes on President Obama's change agenda.
You know what I say? Thanks, but no thanks - how about you get back on that bridge to nowhere, Sarah.
We've got to beat her and the rest of those "no, baby, no" Republicans standing in President Obama's way by winning this FEC fundraising battle on March 31st. It's the only one in President Obama's first 100 days. It'll show everybody that America stands behind President Obama and Democrats fighting for change - not Sarah Palin and the "just say no" Republicans.
Lee Hazel has left a new comment on your post "James Carville Goes After the Head of the Republic...":
I am ecstatic. I had donated to the Sarah Palin PAC and had hoped for an opportunity to say the following: Governor Palin, I would hardly blame you if you never set foot in the lower 48 for the rest of your life.
The treatment you and your beautiful family received by the MSM, obviously the Liberals, and certain members of your own party is unforgivable. It smacked of the vilest forms of naked opportunistic malice.
My sincerest hope is to once more see you on the campaign trail reminding the people of our great republican (as in a Republic) heritage.
I am over 70 years old,a Vietnam veteran and a lung cancer patient and I thank God every day for the opportunities that day offers me. I would say to you:
You are a very special person, one who exudes hope in the real sense, one of individualism and exceptionalism.
Keep up the good work, you are sorely needed.

Someone should tell Mr James that the Republicans are using the most unpopular House Majority Leader in recent history to raise their campaign funds..really who is hated more in America Governor Sarah Palin or Madame Speaker Nancy Pelosi it's NO contest. Take a look at this you tube in fact that is my response to James Carville. Right now Governor Sarah Palin is the acting Governor of Alaska...she isn't the leader of the House running the Country into the ditch.
Gov. Sarah Palin responded to remarks made last night by President Obama related to the Special Olympics on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno":
“I was shocked to learn of the comment made by President Obama about Special Olympics,” Governor Palin said. “This was a degrading remark about our world’s most precious and unique people, coming from the most powerful position in the world.
“These athletes overcome more challenges, discrimination and adversity than most of us ever will. By the way, these athletes can outperform many of us and we should be proud of them. Ihope President Obama’s comments do not reflect how he truly feels about the special needs community.”
We hear that Sarah Palin is a Populist politician. And we are hearing about various Populism movements around the country such as "tea parties". But what does that really mean? What is Populism? Few know that Populism had its beginnings a few miles from where I live in 1878 in Lampasas county, TX. I am proud to state that I have a picture of two of my great grandfathers standing side by side at a Farmer's Alliance Meeting at Rockvale, Burnet county, TX in the early 1900's. The men, Henry Thomas Lewis and Meredith Holloway, were obviously friends although it would be almost a quarter century until their descendants (my parents) would forever unite the two families. And judging by the remarks my mother passed on to me made by her father, he too was a Populist. Needless to say some of this rubbed off on me.
The story belows shows a cabin still standing where the first Farmer's Alliance meetings were held and I don't doubt it had some connection. But I have also read that the little cabin where the Farmers Alliance was formed was taken apart and transported to the Chicago Worlds Fair, reassembled and put on display. At the conclusion of the Fair, the story goes, the cabin was parceled out in small pieces to those who wanted a memento of this historic cabin.
So I suppose you can take your choice.
Building a populist coalition in Texas, 1892-1896.
THAN A HALF CENTURY HAS PASSED SINCE C. VANN WOODWARD argued that the success of the People' s (or Populist) Party of the 1890s hinged on construction of three somewhat improbable coalitions of the dispossessed: southerners and westerners, farmers and laborers, and blacks and poor whites in the
South. (1) The rationale for such coalitions was that supposedly both the South and the West had colonial debtor economies in the 1890s, farmers and laborers shared a common status as producers, and blacks and poor southern whites frequently shared a marginal economic situation. But the counterinfluences of post-Civil War sectionalism, rural-urban jealousies, and racism also were particularly strong in the late-nineteenth-century South. Despite these impediments, Populists experienced substantial success in bringing Woodward's coalitions to fruition in Texas.
Building a movement of the dispossessed in the Lone Star State in the 1890s was fraught with many difficulties. Then as now, Texas was an exceptionally large and diverse state. It is more than eight hundred miles from Brownsville on the Mexican border to the northern edge of the semiarid expanses of the Texas Panhandle, and nearly as far from the Piney Woods of East Texas to El Paso
Of the ten major soil types commonly "recognized around the world, seven are found in abundance in Texas." (2) The state was nearly 85 percent rural in the 1890s. Yet cities as different as southern-white-evangelical-dominated Dallas and overwhelmingly ethnic San Antonio experienced significant growth in the late nineteenth century. (3) A mixture of whites from both the upper and the plantation South, as well as a significant black population, gave the state a southern ambience. But people of Mexican, German, Czech, and Polish heritage both mingled with the native-born population and formed distinctive cultural areas of their own. (4)
In the past, where the term populism originates, specifically in a rustic cabin in Pleasant Valley, Lampasas County, Texas, in the year 1877, populism was not yet populism, it was merely an aggregation of hard scrabble farmers in west Texas fed up with being exploited by the merchants, the bankers, and the rail roads. They weren’t going to take it anymore. They were going to bring to life again what seemed to them to be the dying promise of the Constitution that proclaimed a new government by and for “we the people” to establish Justice and promote the general Welfare, among other laudable intents.
Populist was not a term these sweaty, raw boned farmers applied to themselves. They called themselves “The Farmer’s Alliance”. They were driven by the desire to create what we call today a “level playing field”.
PHOTO BY DAVID LOWE Gordon and Judy Chapin recently donated a conservation easement on their Gravel Hill Ranch, home to numerous animal and native plant species and to a cabin built in the 1880s. The Chapins believe the first owner of the cabin participated in the Farmer Alliance, which began meeting near Donalson Creek (in Lampasas County, TX) in 1877 and evolved into the national Populist Party.
