Sarah Palin, Daughter Respond to Family Guy Show's Mocking Disabled Son

by Steven Ertelt

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol are responding to comments on the Fox show "Family Guy" belittling her family and her disabled son Trig. Although Palin is a contributor for Fox News Channel that hasn't stopped her from criticizing the show on sister company Fox Broadcasting.

Palin, via her Facebook page, complained that the "Family Guy program delivered “another kick in the gut” with a joke targeting her family.

In Sunday’s episode, “Family Guy” shows a girl with Down syndrome saying, “My dad is an accountant and my mom is the former governor of Alaska.”

Palin’s son Trig has Down syndrome and she expressed her frustrations on Facebook, saying “Fox Hollywood — what a disappointment.”

Last night, she posted another response that featured her daughter giving her thoughts on the controversy.

"People are asking me to comment on yesterday’s Fox show that felt like another kick in the gut," Palin wrote. "Bristol was one who asked what I thought of the show that mocked her baby brother, Trig (and/or others with special needs), in an episode."

"Instead of answering, I asked her what she thought. Here is her conscientious reply, which is a much more restrained and gracious statement than I want to make," she said.

Tebow's Ad Brings out Liberal Intolerance

Tebow's Super Bowl ad isn't intolerant; its critics are

Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, February 2, 2010

I'll spit this out quick, before the armies of feminism try to gag me and strap electrodes to my forehead: Tim Tebow is one of the better things to happen to young women in some time. I realize this stance won't endear me to the "Dwindling Organizations of Ladies in Lockstep," otherwise known as DOLL, but I'll try to pick up the shards of my shattered feminist credentials and go on

Tim Tebow's 30-second Super Bowl ad has already provoked plenty of criticism.
Tim Tebow's 30-second Super Bowl ad has already provoked plenty of criticism. (Dave Martin/associated Press)

As statements at Super Bowls go, I prefer the idea of Tebow's pro-life ad to, say, Jim McMahon dropping his pants, as the former Chicago Bears quarterback once did in response to a question. We're always harping on athletes to be more responsible and engaged in the issues of their day, and less concerned with just cashing checks. It therefore seems more than a little hypocritical to insist on it only if it means criticizing sneaker companies, and to stifle them when they take a stance that might make us uncomfortable.

I'm pro-choice, and Tebow clearly is not. But based on what I've heard in the past week, I'll take his side against the group-think, elitism and condescension of the "National Organization of Fewer and Fewer Women All The Time." For one thing, Tebow seems smarter than they do.

Tebow's 30-second ad hasn't even run yet, but it already has provoked "The National Organization for Women Who Only Think Like Us" to reveal something important about themselves: They aren't actually "pro-choice" so much as they are pro-abortion. Pam Tebow has a genuine pro-choice story to tell. She got pregnant in 1987, post-Roe v. Wade, and while on a Christian mission in the Philippines, she contracted a tropical ailment. Doctors advised her the pregnancy could be dangerous, but she exercised her freedom of choice and now, 20-some years later, the outcome of that choice is her beauteous Heisman Trophy winner son, a chaste, proselytizing evangelical.

Pam Tebow and her son feel good enough about that choice to want to tell people about it. Only, NOW says they shouldn't be allowed to. Apparently NOW feels this commercial is an inappropriate message for America to see for 30 seconds, but women in bikinis selling beer is the right one. I would like to meet the genius at NOW who made that decision. On second thought, no, I wouldn't.

New York Times Defends Tebow Pro-Life Ad

New York Times Defends Pro-Life Ad Featuring Tim Tebow, Mom's Non-Abortion

by Steven Ertelt
LifeNews.com Editor
January 31
, 2010

New York, NY (LifeNews.com) -- The New York Times is no bastion of pro-life thought and has taken a consistently aggressive pro-abortion stance over the years. In what may come as a shock to pro-life advocates, the liberal newspaper issued an editorial today taking abortion advocates to task for blasting an ad featuring Tim Tebow.

As LifeNews.com has reported, the ad, sponsored by Focus on the Family, will reportedly focus on the story of Tebow's birth.

Tebow's mother, Pam Tebow, rejected a doctor's suggestion to get an abortion when she became ill on a missions trip to the Philippines during her pregnancy with Tim. Tebow gave birth to Tim and he famously won the 2007 Heisman Trophy and led the Florida Gators to a college football championship.

The Focus on the Family ad has drawn attacks from abortion advocates, who have called on CBS to cancel its plans to allow the ad to air before and after the Super Bowl, and feminist attorney Gloria Allred has made the claim Pam Tebow made up her story about rejecting an abortion.

Choosing Life Ad Stirs Controversary Among Loopy Illogical Libs

by Janet Crain
Whatever your beliefs are about this controversy, I think only someone consumed with loopy liberal logic as Joy Behar could make the comments she did this morning on The View. In an attempt to refute the idea that there is a wonderful possibility that a child might turn out to be a bright intelligent worthy human being if given the chance and not aborted, she said "Yes, but they might also turn out to be a serial killer like Ted Bundy".

This is so stupid, it defies comprehension. Using that logic it would be inadvisable for anyone to have a child. And that would be a most tragic end of our human race. I'm so glad most people understand that FAITH is the substance of things HOPED for, the evidence of things unseen, and take that lovely leap of faith to bring a new person into this world, imperfect as it may be. Joy Behar seems to be a bitter old person who has never known the joy of the pure love of a child.

Please let CBS know you support their decision to run this ad.

Anti-abortion group to screen TV ad to 100m Super Bowl viewers

Christian conservative group Focus on the Family buys costly 30-second spot during American football final

Next month's Super Bowl broadcast, which garners an enormous TV audience, will feature an advert paid for by an anti-abortion evangelical Christian group.

A former college football star known for his outspoken beliefs will appear in the costly 30-second spot bought by Focus on the Family, a Colorado-based ministry influential in Christian conservative politics.

Nearly 100 million Americans are expected to tune in to Super Bowl XLIV on 7 February in Miami Gardens, south Florida. The adverts attract nearly as much attention as the game itself, with Americans watching to see how brands vie for consumers' attention. The Focus on the Family advert is a rare spot from an advocacy group.

The advertisement will feature Tim Tebow, former champion quarterback for the University of Florida football team, who painted Bible quotations under his eyes during games. Focus on the Family and CBS television, the network broadcasting the game, did not disclose the cost of the advert, but media analysts say the cost of a 30-second spot will run between $2.5m and $2.8m.

The advert, entitled Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life, will feature Tebow and his mother Pam, who will tell what the group describes as an inspiring story from her life. It has not released details of the advert, but US media have speculated that she will describe a 1987 pregnancy during which she became ill on a missionary trip to the Philippines. She ignored medical advice to have an abortion, instead giving birth to Tim.

"We're not trying to sell the American people a car or a soft drink," said spokesman Gary Schneeberger. "We're celebrating families."

Schneeberger said the group hopes to influence couples having "struggles" in their marriage. Tebow's father, Bob, runs a group that leads evangelical missions in the Philippines and founded an orphanage there.

The Super Bowl airs alongside creative but often crass adverts for beer, car manufacturers and internet companies, and the network that broadcasts the game normally shies away from controversy. In addition, advocacy groups typically lack the budget to purchase Super Bowl airtime. Focus on the Family said the funds were provided by wealthy supporters.

Latest Gallup Poll Finds Support for Pro-Life Position in Majority for First Time Since 1995

So why are we allowing Obama to push his agenda down our throats. Call your senators and ask them to oppose Dawn Johnsen's appointment.

Call here 1-202-224-3121

Known for her role in the writing of the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), comparing pregnancy to slavery, viewing pro-life protesters as akin to the KKK, demanding that churches lose their tax exempt status for advocating for protection of the unborn, and serving as the legal director for the National Abortion Rights League (NARAL), Dawn Johnsen has demonstrated a complete disregard for unbiased interpretation of law, a key element for the job for which Obama has nominated her: Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel.

As present, it looks as if the Democrats don’t have the 60 votes needed to confirm the radical Dawn Johnsen. Senator Harry Reid recently admitted that there are not even enough votes from the Democrats to bring her name up for a vote.

NEW GALLUP POLL

Obama and Congress on Collision Course with Public Opinion on Abortion
Latest Gallup Poll Finds Support for Pro-Life Position in Majority
for First Time Since 1995

Washington, D.C. – In response to today’s release of polling data from the Gallup’s Annual Values and Beliefs Survey, Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser offered the following statement:

"These polling results confirm a long trend: Americans are increasingly identifying with the position of protecting human life. It’s not shocking that we’re seeing stronger pro-life opinions. This trend has been steady since the early ‘90s. What is interesting is American’s shift in self-labeling to a majority ‘pro-life’ identification. Americans are now seeing through the PR-generated label, ‘pro-choice.’ Sonograms and real-life experience have deemed this label hollow. President Obama and the pro-abortion majority in Congress are in a collision course with public opinion on abortion policy. What we’re debating right now – taxpayer funding for abortion – dramatically outstrips public opinion.”

This is the first time since 1995 that the majority of Americans have identified themselves as pro-life in Gallup’s Annual Values and Beliefs Survey. Gallup proposed that the shift could be due to President Obama’s overreach on the issue. They posit: “It is possible that, through his abortion policies, Obama has pushed the public's understanding of what it means to be ‘pro-choice’ slightly to the left, politically. While Democrats may support that, as they generally support everything Obama is doing as president, it may be driving others in the opposite direction.”

“GOP leaders across the nation should take note of both this week’s poll and last week’s Pew research that show the pro-life position is strengthening the Republican Party,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “It’s time to abandon the ‘blame pro-lifers first’ approach when the GOP loses. If Republicans want to improve their electoral performance, standing on the side of Life is one of the best decisions they can make.”

Earlier this month, a national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press found overall support for abortion down, and that the largest numbers of converts to the pro-life cause have been self-identified independents and liberal to moderate Republicans.

The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of Americans, over 156,000 residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics. Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.

Notre Dame Disgraces its Itself

by Janet Crain
One professor says it is more important that his student do things like help rebuild homes for Katrina victims to show that they are "pro-life", but I say if his students rebuild the entire city of New Orleans with fabulous skyscrapers and a beautiful home for everyone to live in, and have not LOVE for the unborn it is but a sounding of brass, or a tinkling cymbal .

<<1 Corinthians 13-1>>

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

And I am reminded that when Henry David Thoreau went to jail to protest slavery, Ralph Waldo Emerson visited him and asked; “Why are you here?” to which Thoreau replied; “Why are you not here?”

How many of us would go to jail for our beliefs?

19 arrested at Notre Dame protest against Obama

The story

Nineteen demonstrators were arrested at the University of Notre Dame on Saturday as they protested against President Obama's scheduled commencement speech Sunday, campus police said.

The protesters were not students and they were arrested for trespassing when they stepped on the campus, which is private property, Notre Dame police spokesman Dennis Brown told CNN Radio.

Obama's plan to address the university's 2009 graduating class on Sunday has touched off a firestorm. At issue are the president's pro-choice abortion beliefs, which run counter to the Catholic Church's official anti-abortion stance, and his support for federal funding of stem-cell research. Sarah Palin Supports Sex Education in the School

Here is something to pass on to people who make false statements about Sarah Palin's views about sex education. JC

Wasilla High, where Bristol Palin is a student, teaches [a] soup-to-nuts course, reports Rory of Parentalcation, who lives nearby. “I called up my buddy who has a teenage daughter in school there, and asked him the question. He said they teach the same thing every school does. Don’t do it, but if you do, use birth control … risks … blah, blah, blah.”

Furthermore, Gov. Palin appears to support that policy, reports the Los Angeles Times, though her position has either been nuanced or muddled, depending on your political sympathies.

Running for governor of Alaska in 2006, Sarah Palin filled out a questionnaire that asked if she’d support funding for abstinence-until-marriage programs instead of “explicit sex-education programs, school-based clinics and the distribution of contraceptives in schools?”

Palin wrote, “Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support.”

The next month, Palin clarified “explicit,” on a radio debate. Asked if “explicit” programs include those that discuss condoms. Palin said no and called discussions of condoms “relatively benign.”

“Explicit means explicit,” she said. “No, I’m pro-contraception, and I think kids who may not hear about it at home should hear about it in other avenues. So I am not anti-contraception. But, yeah, abstinence is another alternative that should be discussed with kids. I don’t have a problem with that. That doesn’t scare me, so it’s something I would support also.”

... Palin also has nuanced/muddled views on banning abortion. During the 2006 campaign, the Anchorage Daily News asked: “If Roe v. Wade were overturned and states could once again prohibit abortion … should abortion be prohibited in Alaska?”

Palin answered: ”Under this hypothetical scenario, it would not be up to the governor to unilaterally ban anything. It would be up to the people of Alaska to discuss and decide how we would like our society to reflect our values.”

Fetus or Unborn Child; That is the Question.......

by Janet Crain
A bill before the Oklahoma Senate which would give pregnant women the right to kill anyone endangering the life of their unborn child has some pro-choice people uneasy. They think this would open up all kinds of problems for the pro-abortionists. Doctors, clinic staff and anyone associated with an abortion might be liable as killing an unborn child.. If the wording were different they would feel much better about this law. If only fetus or pregnancy had been used in place of "unborn child". Unborn child carries all kinds of connotations. It makes you think of this baby as a person, as a human being.

Botched Abortion Horror Story

16 week fetus pictured

TAMPA, Florida — Eighteen and pregnant, Sycloria Williams went to an abortion clinic outside Miami and paid $1,200 for Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique to terminate her 23-week pregnancy.

Three days later, she sat in a reclining chair, medicated to dilate her cervix and otherwise get her ready for the procedure.

Only Renelique didn't arrive in time. According to Williams and the Florida Department of Health, she went into labor and delivered a live baby girl.

What Williams and the Health Department say happened next has shocked people on both sides of the abortion debate: One of the clinic's owners, who has no medical license, cut the infant's umbilical cord. Williams says the woman placed the baby in a plastic biohazard bag and threw it out.

Williams' lawsuit offers a cruder account: She says Gonzalez knocked the baby off the recliner chair where she had given birth, onto the floor. The baby's umbilical cord was not clamped, allowing her to bleed out. Gonzalez scooped the baby, placenta and afterbirth into a red plastic biohazard bag and threw it out.

Planned Parenthood, 'Wal-Mart of Big Abortion

by Janet Crain
Planned Parenthood touts "drive by" abortion. In between the cleaners and the vet for pet shots, kill your baby and be on your way.

CUT OFF TAX PAYER FUNDING!!!!!!!

SBA List President, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) Call for De-Funding of Planned Parenthood, 'Wal-Mart of Big Abortion'
Contact: Joy Yearout,
Susan B. Anthony List, 703-875-3370

WASHINGTON, July 10 /
Christian Newswire/ -- Yesterday Representatives Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) and Chris Smith (R-NJ) organized a special order on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to call for an end to federal taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood. "The idea that Planned Parenthood cares one wit about reducing the 'need for abortion' is absurd," said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. "But even if this were a sincere claim on their part, they have failed miserably by their own measure. The number of abortions Planned Parenthood performs continually rises, this year reaching 290,000. It is past time to de-fund Planned Parenthood. It is time for a taxpayers' revolt."

Planned Parenthood is the nation's number one abortion provider, providing 290,000 abortions last year. Planned Parenthood provided nearly one in five abortions nationwide in 2005, the latest year nationwide abortion statistics are available. In her testimony on the House floor, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) referenced a recent Wall Street Journal investigation highlighting Planned Parenthood's recent appeal to the affluent in her congressional district. The article cited opening of "express centers in wealthy Minnesota suburbs" with the purposes of appealing to women who are "already doing their grocery shopping, picking up their Starbucks, living their daily lives." "They are big business. They are the Wal-Mart of big abortion," said Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN). "They are the big box retailer. It's time to end their tax exempt status. It's a fraud. It is time to stop the public financing of Planned Parenthood -- it is the right thing to do."

Planned Parenthood Cover Up of Felony Child Abuse Rape

Barack Obama is the biggest supporter Planned Parenthood has. If we don't help protect these children, who will?

Indiana Planned Parenthood Covers Up Sexual Abuse of 13-year Old - video powered by Metacafe

UPDATE: This staffer has been suspended from her job.

Indianapolis, IN (LifeNews.com) -- In what could easily become the most offensive Christmas offer ever a Planned Parenthood affiliate is offering Christmas gift certificates. Purchasers can use them to give the gift of abortion even though the group claims that's not its purpose or intent.

"Looking for an unusual, yet practical gift this holiday season? Planned Parenthood of Indiana (PPIN) is now offering gift certificates for services or the recipient's choice of birth control method," the abortion business says.

Bush pushes conscience rules for health providers

Last-minute Bush abortion ruling causes furor

Hat Tip: Jem

Excerpt:
A last-minute Bush administration plan to grant sweeping new protections to health care providers who oppose abortion and other procedures on religious or moral grounds has provoked a torrent of objections, including a strenuous protest from the government agency that enforces job-discrimination laws.
The proposed rule would prohibit recipients of federal money from discriminating against doctors, nurses and other health care workers who refuse to perform or to assist in the performance of abortions or sterilization procedures because of their "religious beliefs or moral convictions."

It would also prevent hospitals, clinics, doctors' offices and drugstores from requiring employees with religious or moral objections to "assist in the performance of any part of a health service program or research activity" financed by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Rules are Hard to Change by New Administration

While executive orders and rules that are not yet in effect can swiftly be reversed or altered by Obama’s appointees or his own executive orders, rules that go into effect before he takes office will be extremely difficult to undo. Rescinding a rule would require the new administration to re-start the rule-making process, which can take years and prompt legal challenges.

Another strategy that has been talked about lately – getting Congress to disapprove the rules through the Congressional Review Act — carries political risks and has been used only once before.“The problem with what the Bush administration is doing is that these rules are extremely cumbersome to adopt, and they are every bit as cumbersome to undo,” said David Vladeck, an administrative law professor at Georgetown University. “It condemns the next administration to spend years fighting on the old administration’s agenda.”
