OMG!!! Good Bye and Good Riddance!!!

Specter blows a kiss goodbye!!!

I guess the "embarrassing" Tea Parties were just too much for Specter.

Arlen Specter is leaving the Republican Party. Will run for re-election as a Democrat. One more RINO bites the dust!!!

Don't let the screen door hit you in the ...................

Specter's statement: "Not defined" by party

Statement by Sen. Arlen Specter:

I have been a Republican since 1966. I have been working extremely hard for the Party, for its candidates and for the ideals of a Republican Party whose tent is big enough to welcome diverse points of view. While I have been comfortable being a Republican, my Party has not defined who I am. I have taken each issue one at a time and have exercised independent judgment to do what I thought was best for Pennsylvania and the nation.

Since my election in 1980, as part of the Reagan Big Tent, the Republican Party has moved far to the right. Last year, more than 200,000 Republicans in Pennsylvania changed their registration to become Democrats. I now find my political philosophy more in line with Democrats than Republicans.

When I supported the stimulus package, I knew that it would not be popular with the Republican Party. But I saw the stimulus as necessary to lessen the risk of a far more serious recession than we are now experiencing.

Old Reps Never Die, They Just Keep on Getting Porkulus

Wasn't it considerate of the pork providers stimulus package writers to include the pet projects of representatives who are no longer even in office? /sarc

Too Many Czars in the Kitchen?

USA Today leads with a look at how the $410 billion omnibus spending bill contains $227 million for pet projects requested by lawmakers who aren't even in Congress anymore. The New York Times and Washington Post lead with the Obama administration announcing the details of its program to rescue millions of struggling homeowners. The White House said it hopes the two-part plan will help as many as one in nine homeowners. The program received favorable reviews from several large lenders, but others insist it won't do enough to end the ongoing foreclosure crisis.

What Happened to Obama's 5 Day Rule?

And, when there’s a bill that ends up on my desk as president, you the public will have five days to look on-line and find out what’s in it before I sign it so that you know what your government’s doing.

Just a Little Bit of Sugar Makes the Stimulus Go Down for Specter

Stimulus Sellout: 3 Gop Senators Slashed Billions in Tax Cuts; Specter Got $6.5 Billion

In the end, what turned the tide for President Barack Obama’s massive stimulus package was the role played by three Republican senators who took pork over GOP principal. They surrendered billions in tax cuts and allowed billions more in spending to stay in the bill. At least one – Arlen Specter – was awarded $6.5 billion for his very own personal project.

Hope and Change has morphed into Gloom and Doom

Hope and Change has morphed into Gloom and Doom and Obama is the chief purveyor of pessimism. JC

In Elkhart, Ind., on Monday, President Obama spoke as if America were approaching a doomsday that only a massive increase in government could avert.

"The situation we face could not be more serious," he said. "We have inherited an economic crisis as deep and as dire as any since the Great Depression. Economists from across the spectrum have warned that if we don't act immediately, millions more jobs will be lost, and national unemployment rates will approach double digits. More people will lose their homes and their health care. And our nation will sink into a crisis that, at some point, we may be unable to reverse."

Do we really face the possibility of an irreversible crisis? Well, yes. Not the one Obama describes, but the one he may cause.

In fact, talking down the economy serves Obama's purposes. It helps sell his agenda for massively increasing government.

And it could be a self-fulfilling prophecy: America's economy has grown in the past because the American people have not been overburdened by government. Obama could cause irreversible decline by creating an unsustainable government.

Don't let the trillion dollar no-stimulus bill pass the Senate too

Take a stand against the Pelosi-Reid-Obama big-government pork-barrel spending bill by signing our online petition TODAY!

Last week, the trillion dollar, unprecedented explosion in federal spending misleading called a "stimulus" package passed a vote in theHouse, but all the House Republicans and 11 House Democrats stood up toNancy Pelosi and voted 'no' to bigger government, more debt, and more wasteful programs. The bill needs 60 voted to pass in the Senate, and with enough grassroots pressure it will be defeated.

White Male Construction Workers Need Not Apply

Hat Tip: Hot Air

"I am concerned, as I’m sure many of you are, that these jobs not simply go to high-skilled people who are already professionals or to white male construction workers. … I have nothing against white male construction workers. I’m just saying that there are a lot of other people who have needs as well. … Criteria can be set so that the money does go to others, the long term unemployed minorities, women, people who are not necessarily construction workers or high-skilled professionals."
