Help Stop the Insurance Insanity!!!!!

Speaker Pelosi and President Obama are rushing a health care plan through Congress that will force millions of families out of their health care plans and into a costly, lower-quality, complicated, government-run system.

But they won't be using this health plan so they don't care!!!!!

We need to stop them right here and now.

Remember this:

  • Health care costs will skyrocket. Make no mistake, a complex government-run system will send costs soaring even higher and Washington will have to keep raising taxes and rationing care to keep up.
  • Millions of jobs will be lost. Democrats want to impose a massive small business tax and crippling penalties that will force small businesses to shed jobs or close their doors.
  • It will be expensive. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) pegs the cost at more than $1 trillion. Remember, we're already running a trillion-dollar deficit this year alone.
  • Millions of Americans will be kicked out of their current coverage. The CBO also estimates that roughly 23 million Americans would lose their private coverage. Not only that, USA Today says that after burying our country even deeper in debt, "15 million to 20 million would remain uninsured" under the Democratic plan. That's more proof that a government takeover of health care is not the answer.
Democrats are acting quickly on this monstrosity so the American people won't have time to examine it and find out what it really does. One top Democrat even laughed at the idea that they'd read their own bill before voting on it.

You can help today.

Republicans have a real health care solution that will lower health care costs, expand access to high-quality care, and foster new innovations that will save lives - without raising taxes.

Our plan will make it easier for small businesses to provide affordable coverage, and will end the junk lawsuits and wasteful spending that drive up costs.

We can bring down the cost of health care - but first we need to stop Speaker Pelosi and President Obama's government takeover. Please make an immediate contribution and help fight back today!

The Speaker Is in the House

"Democrats have a genius for knitting nooses for themselves."
King James Bible

Proverbs 26-27

Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

Nancy Pelosi is a bit like Britain's Margaret Thatcher in reverse. Mrs. T. was tough and steely in her public role as prime minister, but womanly, flirtatious, even gossipy, in private. (One of her cabinet members once told me he harbored erotic thoughts about Maggie as she walked past him, trailing a "whiff of Chanel.") In Pelosi's case, it's the other way around.

When I first talked to her at her office on Capitol Hill in the third week of April, she had just come from a sisterly ceremony, sharing a platform with Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton to unveil a bust of the legendary slave, abolitionist and suffragist Sojourner Truth at Emancipation Hall. The specter of briefings on the netherworld of the CIA's "enhanced interrogation techniques" could not have been more at odds with the aura of lunch-club femininity the Speaker projected with her lilac Armani pantsuit, professional gracious smile and freshly coiffed hair. ("She always was put together," one of the five Pelosi offspring, filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi, told me. "She never drove carpool in her pajamas, she always got dressed.")

But when the door to the Speaker's office closes, she is fast-talking, formidable, high-energy and supremely self—confident—more Baltimore's Little Italy, where she was raised in a powerful political family, than latte-sipping San Francisco, where she has lived for 40 years as the wife of a rich financier.

Leaning forward in a straight-back chair, she refers several times for emphasis to a small laminated bookmark listing the eight major bills her leadership has pushed through the House in Obama's first 100 days. "I'm disciplined. I keep informed. I know the policies. I understand the people," she rattles off, when asked how she has consolidated her power base in the House.

The only moment she gives a mildly beseeching glance at her press secretary is when I ask her when and what she knew about "waterboarding."

It's a fact that on Sept. 4, 2002, she was briefed by the CIA on its "enhanced interrogation techniques," along with Republican Porter Goss (the GOP's Richard Shelby and Democrat Bob Graham, the other two members of the "Gang of Four" intelligence--committee leaders, were briefed separately, three weeks later). What's very much in dispute is what they heard. Pelosi insists that she was briefed just this one time, and only on the fact that administration lawyers had concluded certain techniques were legal—not the truth that emerged later, which was that Al Qaeda suspect Abu Zubaydah had already been waterboarded 83 times following his capture in Pakistan in March 2002. "Any contention to the contrary is simply not true," she said.

Democrats have a genius for knitting nooses for themselves. Nancy Pelosi was having it pretty much all her way in Congress until President Obama released the Bush administration's legal memos on torture.

Liar, Liar!!! Pants Suit on Fire!!!

Hat Tip: Don
by Janet Crain

What Did She Know and When Did She Know It?
Remember, in 2002 Pelosi wasn't just another of the 435 members of the House but was in fact the ranking Democratic member on the House Intelligence Committee, and as such, was one of 4 members of Congress to get these classified briefings about what the CIA was up to.

This is not the first time Ms. Pelosi has been driven by her own hubris to make a disastrous move. She would pull the entire house of cards Democratic Party down on her head rather than keep her mouth shut and be thought a crook, she insists on removing all doubt!!!

PLEASE VOTE IN OUR POLL

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says that she was misled by the CIA on waterboarding. She spent eight years complaining about how dumb President Bush was and the minute she's in trouble, she says he fooled her." - Jay Leno

Washington Post:

Nancy Pelosi is a woman of many talents. Yesterday, she performed the delicate art of backtracking while walking sideways.

The speaker of the House had just read a statement accusing the CIA of lying and was trying to beat a hasty retreat from her news conference before reporters could point out contradictions between her current position and her previous statements.
“Thank you!” an aide called out to signal an end to the session. Pelosi walked, sideways, away from the lectern and, still sidling in a sort of crab walk, was halfway to the door when a yell from CNN’s Dana Bash, rising above the rest of the shouting, froze her in the aisle. …

Over the next few minutes of shouted questions — “They lied to you? Were you justified? When were you first told? Did you protest? Why didn’t you tell us?” — the speaker attempted the crab-walk retreat again, returned to the lectern again and then finally skittered out of the room.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/14/AR2009051403991.html

AP – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of Calif. is seen on Capitol Hill in Washington, Thursday, May 14, 2009. Earlier …

WASHINGTON – The head of the CIA defended the agency Friday against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's charge that she was misled in 2002 about the use of waterboarding, but he said it ultimately is up to Congress to decide where the truth lies.

"Let me be clear. It is not our policy or practice to mislead Congress," CIA Director Leon Panetta wrote in a message to agency employees that was released to the public. "That is against our laws and our values."

Referring to Pelosi's remarks, he said, "The political debate over interrogation reached a new decibel level yesterday."

Panetta's rebuttal was far more muted that a counterattack the Republicans unleashed against Pelosi.

"I think her accusations against our terror-fighters are irresponsible and, according to the CIA's record, Speaker Pelosi was briefed on what had been done," said Sen. Kit Bond of Missouri, the senior Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee. "It's outrageous that a member of Congress would call our terror-fighters liars."

Pelosi drew the criticism a day after opening her weekly news conference with a prepared statement accusing agency briefers of misleading her in 2002 in connection with the use of waterboarding, an interrogation technique that simulates drowning.

In the statement, she repeated that she was not told that waterboarding had been used, even though it had been, and said an aide informed her of its use after other lawmakers had been briefed in 2003.

Pelosi has been the target of a campaign orchestrated in recent days by the House Republican leadership, which is eager to undercut her statements as well as stick Democrats with partial responsibility for the use of waterboarding in the Bush administration.

Some Democrats have expressed surprise that she chose to inject herself more deeply into the controversy, especially at a time when President Barack Obama enjoys widespread public support and Republicans are suffering extremely low approval ratings. Associates of the California Democrat say she decided it was an error to allow Republican attacks to go unanswered any longer.

At the White House, spokesman Robert Gibbs decided to stay out of the controversy. "I appreciate the invitation to get involved but I'll decline to R.S.V.P.." He said the president wanted to look forward, not back.

What an Elitist Country We Now Live In

The Left does not care about you, peasants
Filed under: General — Karl @ 11:58 am
[Posted by Karl]

Rolling Stone political reporter Matt Taibbi confesses ignorance in a piece titled, “The peasant mentality lives on in America”:

It took a good long while for news of the Teabag movement to penetrate the periphery of my consciousness — I kept hearing things about it and dismissing them, sure that the whole business was some kind of joke. Like a Daily Show invention, say. It pains me to say this as an American, but we are the only people on earth dumb enough to use a nationwide campaign of “teabag parties” as a form of mass protest, in the middle of a real economic crisis.

http://patterico.com/2009/04/15/the-left-does-not-care-about-you-peasants/

On the other hand Pelosi thinks the Tea Party participants were among the wealthiest people in the USA.

So I suppose you can take your pick. Neither opinion is worth a tinker's dam.

The Most Dangerous Person in America?

by Janet Crain
Is Nancy Pelosi truly insane? How do people like this get into a position of power so threatening? She is second in line to the Presidency. As bad as I feel Obama is for this country and as inept and foolish as I believe Joe Biden to be, I pray for their safety because having Nancy Pelosi as President would mean the total collaspe of our country. Her remarks to a group of illegal aliens in San Franciso demonstate just how wrong headed she is. "They are patriots and it is un-American to force them to leave this country" according to Ms. Pelosi. How stupid, how truly stupid is this woman?

I do not believe in Sanctuary Cities. People who are in this country illegally do not deserve sanctuary of any kind. They are stealing from the would be legal immigrants on waiting lists. Our border states have incurred enough expense and discomfort from the illegal aliens already. Enforce the laws. Do you think Mexico would furnish us sanctuary cities to stay in if we poured into their country?

Mexico has resources. They should be forced to accept responsibility for their own citizens. They should develop their country and stop being so backward. They have tourist attractions and plenty of natural resources. They will learn how to survive if there is no alternative. We don't need their labor. That is an old canard that won't wash. There are US citizens standing in line for these jobs. People who want cheap maids, nannies and gardeners should not expect the rest of us to subsidize their employees' wages by furnishing food stamps, welfare, housing and medical care with our taxes.

Frankly I have had enough and so have many others!

Pelosi un-American

It has been reported that House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, was invited by Illinois's own Representative Luis Guitierrez to speak before a group of immigrants gathered in San Francisco.

There she praised the group, a large portion of who were in the U.S. illegally, as "very, very patriotic." She then went on to make assertions, not supported by the facts, that Internal Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials were engaging in inappropriate conduct toward these immigrants and she condemned ICE for enforcing U.S. laws by rounding up the criminals in their homes or workplaces.

In Pelosi's view, the enforcement of U.S. laws by an agency of the federal government must be stopped. "It must be stopped…what value system is this? I think it's un-American. I think it's un-American."

Mrs. Pelosi represents California, a state overrun by illegal immigrants who are sucking the life's blood out of state resources. And Pelosi must not have read the story that appeared in the Chicago Tribune about the illegal immigrant who stole nearly $600,000 in medical services from taxpayers by producing fake identity that showed she was a U.S. citizen. Had she read it, I doubt that she would care. We can see from her authorship of the idiotic stimulus bill, and from her flagrant use of corporate jets at taxpayer expense that she has no interest in and zero capability for protecting the fiscal health of our nation.

Nancy Pelosi is being used big time by the Republicans to raise funds. She is quite the fund raiser for the Republican Party. Nancy Pelosi along with AG Eric Holder "Americans Are Cowards" and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Mexico's Violence is Americas fault. Well to the Americans that voted them in: Do you feel ashamed enough yet? Maybe you all should try a 12 step program for Co-Dependency, and leave the rest of us out of your shame spiral. Just saying, I don't do Guilty Nanny State.

Pop Up Pelosi Thorn in Obama's Side

At the same time Obama was wooing Dent and other Republicans, the House Speaker was going in the opposite direction. Dent says he wanted to talk about some of his concerns, but Democratic leaders ignored him. Pelosi didn't share the president's dream of brotherly love breaking out in the Capitol. She was in charge, this was her bill and she would decide what was in it. To the ire of Republicans, and some Democrats, Pelosi maneuvered to put the stimulus package on an emergency fast track, cutting short debate on the bill and cutting Republicans out of the discussion. "I believe the president was absolutely sincere in looking for a bipartisan outcome," Dent says. "But the White House lost control of the process when the bill was outsourced to Pelosi."

There is always friction between the White House and Congress, even when one party rules both. Obama naturally believes that after winning an arduous campaign, he's earned the right to run the show. But Pelosi worked just as hard to get her job. A sharp-elbowed San Francisco multimillionaire who battled her way to the top of a club still dominated by men, she has no intention of being Obama's gofer. Pelosi, who declined to be interviewed for this story, spent years plotting the Democrats' 2006 comeback. Obama can talk all he wants about "bipartisanship"—her job is to keep the GOP in the minority. Pelosi was dismissive of suggestions that she should have been more solicitous of the other side. "Yes, we wrote this bill," Pelosi said at a press conference. "Yes, we won this election." Then she dialed back her tone. Of course she was interested in bipartisanship, she added quickly. "The president is working hard to get that done."

This tension has left the president and the Speaker with a complicated relationship that hovers somewhere between friend and frenemy. Obama and Pelosi respect, even like, each other. (During his speech before Congress last week, she jumped out of her seat to applause so often that the gossip Web site Gawker dubbed her "Pop-Up Pelosi.") And they need each other politically. But they can still get on each other's nerves. Some White House aides have begun to grumble privately that the president has a Pelosi problem. In some ways, says a senior Obama official, "dealing with Democrats has been tougher than dealing with Republicans." (The official, like other White House and congressional sources quoted in this article, asked not to be named so he could speak candidly.)

Obama and his aides, the official says, were upset over press leaks—which they believe came from Pelosi's office—suggesting Obama was "naive" to reach out to Republicans. Obama gets that Democrats in Congress still harbor resentment over the way GOP leaders treated them when Democrats were in the minority. Pelosi's allies say they wanted to work with Republicans on the stimulus and sought their input last fall. They accuse the GOP of trying to embarrass Obama by voting en masse against the stimulus. No doubt there's truth to that: Republican leader John Boehner muscled his members not to break ranks.

http://www.usnews.com/polls/whod-run-the-best-daycare/results.html

I don't know who thought this up. Three of these women I wouldn't leave a cat with (remember Socks?) but please go here and vote for Sarah Palin. She was really far in the lead until the lefties saw this and nearly freaked and started going there voting for MO.

Here is the question:

If you had a choice of four daycare centers run separately by Michelle Obama, Sarah Palin, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi, which would you choose for your kids?

First lady Michelle Obama

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Don't let the trillion dollar no-stimulus bill pass the Senate too

Take a stand against the Pelosi-Reid-Obama big-government pork-barrel spending bill by signing our online petition TODAY!

Last week, the trillion dollar, unprecedented explosion in federal spending misleading called a "stimulus" package passed a vote in theHouse, but all the House Republicans and 11 House Democrats stood up toNancy Pelosi and voted 'no' to bigger government, more debt, and more wasteful programs. The bill needs 60 voted to pass in the Senate, and with enough grassroots pressure it will be defeated.
