The Unsinkable Sarah Palin

The music swells and then picks up tempo. Sarah Palin is talking about how 2010 will be the year that "commonsense conservative women get things done for our country." She's worried about "these policies coming out of D.C. right now, this fundamental transformation of America," and reports that she is not alone. "Moms kinda just know when something's wrong," she says. "You thought pit bulls were tough? Well, you don't wanna mess with the mama grizzlies!"

Can a two-minute Internet video reshuffle a Republican presidential race before it has even started? Palin's glossy yet authentic clip, released without any fanfare July 8, did just that. It was the surest sign yet that she means to be an energizing factor in this year's midterm elections and will mount a real bid for the White House in 2012. Most compelling is the way the video targets women, specifically moms, whom Palin exhorts to vote in the midterms and halt the Obama agenda. The video features image after image of everyday, determined, smiling, patriotic mothers and grandmothers, all keen to join her army of supporters. Palin calls it a "mom awakening." If she can inspire GOP and independent women to turn out for the party's candidates in November, she could decisively influence the outcome of the midterms.

We've got to get this right!!!

The terror attack on Christmas Day has brought out all sorts revelations about just how pathetic our terror fighting abilities truly are. I mean this deal was a comedy of errors and it was only by the grace of God almighty himself that this Islamic mad man’s Underbooms © failed to explode and take the plane down.

Not only was Abdul Farouk Umar Abdulmutallab on several watch lists, and from a real hotbed of al Qaeda terrorist activity, the guy’s own father warned the embassy that his son had become radicalized by militant Islamic fanatics. Never mind Abdul showed up with no luggage, tried to board with no passport, and paid for the one-way ticket to Detroit in cash. Who goes to Detroit without a ticket out of there anyway?

As bad as all of this is though, and this is a serious indictment on our entire terror fighting process, it also highlights another issue, energy independence.

Long before Sarah Palin made “death panels” a household word, long before she was even picked as the John McCain’s running mate, Sarah made energy independence a centerpiece of her message, her career. Sarah didn’t just talk the talk either, within hours of stepping into her new office as the Governor of Alaska, she began working on making the decades long dream of a natural gas pipeline to the lower 48 a reality.

It was Sarah’s dream to get Alaska’s 100’s of trillions of cubic feet of clean burning natural gas out of the ground and into use. She was able to work out all of the issues and now the pipeline is on track to become a reality.

Of course, Sarah’s message on energy independence isn’t just an economic one. Now it’s true, we send between $700 billion and $1 trillion dollars annually overseas. The problem is many times it’s to nations that not only hate us, but use our own dollars to fund efforts to undermine us as a nation. In other words, they use our dollars to fund terror, world wide, against the United States, and our allies.

Even worse, we are forced to act gingerly, even timidly, on many issues, lest we cause major problems with big oil producing nations like Saudi Arabia. We make those guys mad, and they can shut us off, or raise prices to the moon, destroying our already devastated economy. (That is if Obama and the rest of the democrat/communists don’t beat them to it!)

This is a great book. It clears up so many misconceptions about Sarah Palin.

I hope everyone will order a copy. And consider donating your copy to your local High School or public library when you are finished. And/or order a few extra for that purpose.

I do a lot of reading on blog comment sections and I am appalled at the incorrect impressions many people have of Sarah Palin, due to possibly the worst roll out in history.

Much Ado About Governor Palin's Daughter's Future Mother-in-Law

So Levi Johnson's mother apparently has made some bad choices in her lifestyle. Where is the compassion that would be showered upon a Hollywood celebrity? Her addiction to the prescription painkiller Oxycontin and subsequent arrest has seemingly been reported in every newspaper in the world. Why are the MSM and leftist liberal bloggers practically foaming at the mouth over this story?

They have siezed on this fragile thread of association (Governor Palin's daughter, Bristol, is engaged to Levi and will give birth to his child any moment now) as an example of how hypocritical they think Sarah Palin is and incidentally low class. They are already calling Oxycontin "hillbilly" heroin. Although having multiple offspring out of wedlock is practically de rigueur for celebrities these days, they have had a collective fit over the Governor's daughter who is 18 and legally an adult having this child as a single Mom.

To all of the reporters and bloggers and finger waggers, I have this to say:

Stop picking on an innocent baby and a young couple. Stop trying to harass Governor Palin. The Kennedy's have a cousin who brutally killed a young girl. Jacquelyn Kennedy's aunt and cousin lived in a dirt encrusted 28 room old mansion where cats and racoons wandered freely. People have embarrassing relatives. I bet you do.

The whole problem with the public's perception that Sarah Palin is unfit for office is their perception of her as some kind of redneck trailer trash. She doesn't come from a wealthy family or have Hollywood celebrity. Her husband, while very well known in Alaska as a 4 time winner of the Iron Man sled run is not a famous politician.

You would think the above would be a plus, that she made it on her own. But this nation loves their "royalty".

As a genealogist I would like to inform you that Sarah's creds are as good as anyone's and better than most.

She has 7 Mayflower ancestors and is descended from or is related to many famous people, including McCain, Obama and Bush. She also descends from numerous royal lines.

None of this makes her a better person or a better leader, but it is interesting. There is nothing bad about rednecks or people living in trailer parks. I am really tired of hearing smart mouths calling people trailer trash. Some of those people are a lot better people than the ones running them down.

People have gotten real snobby in this country. It is not an attractive trait. Having money doesn't make you a better person. Having common sense, good morals, a generous heart and a cheerful outlook on life makes you a valuable human being. We could use more people like that.

Palin makes a Peach State sweep for GOP senator

(CNN) -- Call Sarah Palin the closer.

The Alaska governor and former Republican vice presidential nominee was back on the campaign trail Monday, teaming up with Sen. Saxby Chambliss at four campaign events in Georgia, the last full day of campaigning before Tuesday's Senate runoff election in the state.

Chambliss, a freshman Republican senator from Georgia, is facing Jim Martin, a former Georgia state lawmaker.

Chambliss won a plurality of the vote three weeks ago on Election Day, but Georgia state law requires a majority -- 50 percent plus one vote.

Because of the inclusion of a third-party candidate, Chambliss fell just shy of that threshold, forcing the runoff.

"You Georgians are going to have the opportunity to determine the direction this country is going to take," said Palin during a campaign rally in Perry, in south Georgia.

"This election is that important and I know come tomorrow night, Georgians are going to speak and Georgia's going to speak with a loud and clear voice. We want to make sure we have at least 41 Republicans in the United States Senate to make sure that we shape bad legislation, or kill bad legislation." Watch Palin back on the stump »

Bring Palin back in 2012, poll says

No sooner had Barack Obama won the presidential election than pundits started looking to 2012 and possible Republican challengers. A Gallup Poll asked people to rank the top 10 candidates they would like to run. Topping the list: Sarah Palin (67 percent), Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. Second to last: Gov. Charlie Crist (23 percent), one below former Gov. Jeb Bush (31 percent). The telephone poll was taken Nov. 5-16 and included 799 Republicans and GOP-leaning independents, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
