Stupid is as Stupid Does

With absolute power, Team Obama grows stupid

How could such smart people do so many stupid things? That question, or variations on it, is being asked in Washington and around the country about the Obama administration.

The same people who directed the campaign that defeated Hillary Clinton and routed John McCain, a campaign that raised far more money and attracted far more volunteers than any before it, have within a year come up with a legislative program that is crashing in ruins and that, to judge from recent polls, has left the Democratic party weaker than I have seen it in almost 50 years of closely following politics.

Scott Brown Surges Ahead by 4% Lead!!!!!

Just received in my Inbox!!!!! Please donate. You can make a difference!!!

The people in Massachusetts have awakened from their long slumber!!!

SCOTT BROWN PULLS AHEAD TO A 4% LEAD IN MASSACHUSETTS SPECIAL ELECTION FOR U.S. SENATE !!!

It is with great excitement that we are passing on to you this breaking news development from Massachusetts where a brand new poll has Republican Scott Brown surging to a 4% lead in the polls for the Special Election for U.S. Senate.

Scott Brown now leads liberal Democrat Martha Coakley by a 50%-46% margin. This is the first time Brown has hit the magical threshold of 50% in a poll, suggesting he has the momentum to win this race in this heavily Democratic state!

The Democrats are in a state of panic and have just dumped even more money into this race. We here at the Tea Party Express are countering with our own TV ad campaign for Scott Brown that is running into the hundreds of thousands of dollars - thanks to your support.

Tomorrow we are expanding our ad buy even more - and we need your support. The final deadlines for us to purchase advertising is the end of the day Friday, and then one last time for the end of the day Monday. This is it, there are no more tomorrow's - we must make our final push now!

You can make a contribution to our campaign effort for Scott Brown - HERE.

We must take action, for if we can pull out a victory, we stop the Democrats dead in their tracks in their effort to secretly ram through their socialistic healthcare plan.

That's because Scott Brown wholeheartedly opposes the Democrat's government-run healthcare plan and has made his opposition to it a central part of his campaign.

Poor Bill Maher.......

Poor Bill Maher... He doesn't have a Republican Administration to mock anymore. He is at his wit's end which isn't very long anyway trying to find something his audience will laugh at. Perhaps it will dawn on him he never was funny. Except for his ridiculous hair style.

Specter the Defector: Flip-flopping Like a Ten Pound Bass

"The one consistency in the history of Arlen Specter has been his willingness to do whatever will best protect and advance the career of Arlen Specter."
Thursday, April 30, 2009

It's been more than four decades since Arlen Specter, senator from Pennsylvania, earned the nickname "Specter the Defector." With his decision this week to leave the Republican Party, he confirmed that it is indeed an accurate description of his political character.

I was a kid reporter for the New York Times back in 1965, when Specter's flip-flopping first attracted attention, and the report I filed recounts the circumstances that led to his unflattering nickname. Specter, then a Democrat, had been an assistant district attorney in Philadelphia, and he harbored an ambition to run against his lackluster boss, James Crumlish. The Democratic bosses of Philadelphia were not encouraging Specter because, as one of them told me, "We don't want another young Tom Dewey," the reform-minded New York prosecutor who launched himself into the governorship and two presidential nominations by sending a string of prominent officeholders of both parties off to jail.

So Specter, with the encouragement of such prominent Pennsylvania Republicans as Sen. Hugh Scott and Gov. William Scranton, said he would run against Crumlish on the GOP ticket. To hedge his bets, and to help himself gain Democratic votes, he waited until he won the race to change his party registration.

Is Statesmenship Dead?

According to The Hill, Specter said this only about 6 weeks ago:

"I am staying a Republican because I think I have an important role, a more important role, to play there. The United States very desperately needs a two-party system. That's the basis of politics in America. I'm afraid we are becoming a one-party system, with Republicans becoming just a regional party with so little representation of the Northeast or in the middle Atlantic. I think as a governmental matter, it is very important to have a check and balance. That's a very important principle in the operation of our government. In the constitution on Separation of powers."

So what has happened in the few weeks since then? Is the country less in need of a two-party system? Is it OK for the Republican party to be only a regional party, leaving out the Northeast? Do we not care about checks and balances? Are the Constitution's precepts no longer important?

No, it was none of that (according to Specter himself). He said that he could see he was going to lose in the Republican primary, so it was in his interest to switch parties. He will not let the Republican primary voters determine his legacy.

Bi-partisanship, what's that?

For all of his hopes about bipartisanship, Barack Obama has the most polarized early job approval ratings of any president in the past four decades. The 61-point partisan gap in opinions about Obama's job performance is the result of a combination of high Democratic ratings for the president -- 88% job approval among Democrats -- and relatively low approval ratings among Republicans (27%).

By comparison, there was a somewhat smaller 51-point partisan gap in views of George W. Bush's job performance in April 2001, a few months into his first term. At that time, Republican enthusiasm for Bush was comparable to how Democrats feel about Obama today, but there was substantially less criticism from members of the opposition party. Among Democrats, 36% approved of Bush's job performance in April 2001; that compares with a 27% job approval rating for Obama among Republicans today.

James Carville Goes After the Head of the Republican Party

March 24, 2009
Categories: Sarah Palin

Using Palin

She's become, to the left, what Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy long were to the right -- fundraising gold.

The DCCC blasts out an email from James Carville:

Dear Friend,

You won't even believe this.

The Republicans have called on none other than Sarah Palin to headline their big fat-cat fundraising dinner.

You know they're going to use every last dime they raise to try to slam the brakes on President Obama's change agenda.

You know what I say? Thanks, but no thanks - how about you get back on that bridge to nowhere, Sarah.

We've got to beat her and the rest of those "no, baby, no" Republicans standing in President Obama's way by winning this FEC fundraising battle on March 31st. It's the only one in President Obama's first 100 days. It'll show everybody that America stands behind President Obama and Democrats fighting for change - not Sarah Palin and the "just say no" Republicans.

Lee Hazel has left a new comment on your post "James Carville Goes After the Head of the Republic...":

I am ecstatic. I had donated to the Sarah Palin PAC and had hoped for an opportunity to say the following: Governor Palin, I would hardly blame you if you never set foot in the lower 48 for the rest of your life.

The treatment you and your beautiful family received by the MSM, obviously the Liberals, and certain members of your own party is unforgivable. It smacked of the vilest forms of naked opportunistic malice.

My sincerest hope is to once more see you on the campaign trail reminding the people of our great republican (as in a Republic) heritage.

I am over 70 years old,a Vietnam veteran and a lung cancer patient and I thank God every day for the opportunities that day offers me. I would say to you:

You are a very special person, one who exudes hope in the real sense, one of individualism and exceptionalism.

Keep up the good work, you are sorely needed.

Janet

Someone should tell Mr James that the Republicans are using the most unpopular House Majority Leader in recent history to raise their campaign funds..really who is hated more in America Governor Sarah Palin or Madame Speaker Nancy Pelosi it's NO contest. Take a look at this you tube in fact that is my response to James Carville. Right now Governor Sarah Palin is the acting Governor of Alaska...she isn't the leader of the House running the Country into the ditch.

Time Mag's Grunwald Frets Chambliss Will Cause GOP to Shift Right

In a Tuesday posting before the results were in from Georgia's run-off Senate election between incumbent Republican Saxby Chambliss, who won, and Democrat Jim Martin, Time magazine's Michael Grunwald fretted a Chambliss victory "could reinforce the dangerous message that recent electoral results have been sending to Republicans" which is that "GOP moderates like Connecticut Congressman Christopher Shays and GOP pragmatists like North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory keep losing, while most Republican survivors have been conservatives from conservative districts and conservative states."

Gee....ya think?
